Christmas has come

I made this floral arrangement for my Christmas decor. I took apart some other arrangements I wasn't using anymore. See I've decided to change my color scheme. I used to have a lot of red... now it will be much brighter! I'll update soon.

You can't see it very well, but on the bottom shelf are some matchboxes that I covered with scrapbook paper. Inside are daily activities to count down to Christmas. I (like everyone else) was super busy this season.. so if my older child forgot, I didn't bring it up either! But when we did remember and have time it was so fun!
I sprayed some pinecones with spray glue and then glittered them. I cut ribbons of different colors and sizes and tied them together. It was a fun, super easy & fast decoration.
Here are my stockings. I may have finished the boot on Christmas Eve... But hey it was done, hung and filled the next morning! I will put her name on it next season!
Here are some 'melting snowman cookies' I made for a family party. I found them from pinterest. I would link it, but my original link isn't working. I made my normal sugar cookie recipe, and frosting recipe, then just added marshmallows for the heads. I used the gel decorating tubes to color noses, eyes, buttons, arms & bows for the girls :)

Ruffle Top

This top was so simple to make! I just used another shirt she had to make a pattern. Then I added a ruffle made from yellow knit across the front. Then I added a couple of strips of knit to the front and back to be tied in a bow for the straps.
Then I used the same yellow knit to make some capri rouched leggings. Again, bad pictures but it's all I've got!

Jumper

I am so in love with this fabric, it took me awhile to decide what to make out of it. I barely had enough to make this little jumper. I'm not sure what it's called but it is from Hobby Lobby. I trimmed the shoulder straps with some yellow fabric.

Swimming Robes

Another project to keep me sane in my little hotel in Texas... Swimming Robes! I made these using a pattern found here - Made -

It was very easy to use, I would definitely recommend using it!

This was baby #2's robe. I loved the polka dot towel and bright green bias tape. And my favorite part was the orange polka dot hood.

I couldn't find the originals anywhere for #1's robe. He picked out a dark blue towel, red bias tape and yellow hood. I have yet to sew the Superman symbol on the back.. Now that's it's summer again maybe I'll get around to it!

Polka Dot

I LOVE polka dots! This fabric is a favorite of mine. I have a lot of scraps leftover from my sister.

I made these for my friends girls while we were living in a hotel in Texas! Of course I brought my sewing machine and a vacuum seal bag (the ones that suck out the air and shrink down) full of fabric! She helped me cut out pieces and things, but it was hard with her baby so she kept an eye on the kids while I sewed away!

The pictures aren't that great, but the sleeves are lace and the bottom has tulle.
Of course matching headbands! This one is a purple knit gathered flower, black tulle and feathers!
I added some extra strips of fabric to this one because it was for an older/taller girl. I wish I had more tulle to add on this one, we just had a few layers.
Green knit, black lace and feathers. Both headbands are glued onto a stretchy knit headband.

I ended up making one for my baby too. I meant to set up a little photo shoot with her but she got sick and then I forgot! So this will have to do for now.

The yellow tie is supposed to be off set in the front with a flower, or tied in back. Paired with Persnickety triple ruffle leggings and it's my new favorite outfit!
Sadly we are still waiting on hair for this little one!

Halloween Time

I have to admit, I'm not a huge Halloween person. However it's always fun to have something festive around... Here are some of my simple decorations for Halloween.

I gathered some branches, painted them black and made mini pumpkins. For the pumpkins i cut circles out of fall colors, did a running stitch, filled with cotton and glued a mini stick at the top. The vase was filled with candy corn.

Next I made a orange wreath out of feathers. I picked up the wreath from the dollar store and the feathers from either hobby lobby with a 40% off coupon.

Then I tied a ribbon and hung it from my front door.
We cut out 'spider webs' spray painted them black and glittered them using silver, dark purple and dark green. My husband says they just look like snowflakes.. but I think if they're black and it's halloween you know what they're supposed to be :)
Here are my pumpkins. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have. I loved the gold one!

This one in my current favorite. I have made it in a few color ways - the yellow being my fav!

However I love the turquoise too!
